The scenery of the North York Moors is beautiful in Winter. Whether you see atmospheric misty valleys and forests or the low winter sun over the hills. With the short winter days, there will be plenty of chance to see the starry skies at night that only a location as remote as ours can offer.
If you opt for a long weekend here, there are several day walks that start and end in the village, and plenty of options for day trips. English Heritage sites Rievaulx Abbey and Helmsley Castle are less than a half hour drive away. Quaint English towns and villages such as Helmsley, Great Ayton and Hutton-le-Hole are also less than a half hour drive away and the seaside town of Whitby is under a one hour drive away.
And after a day of exploring, come back to enjoy a meal from our tasty menu beside our open fire.
