Starters & Snacks

At The Buck Inn we serve a mix of dishes. Some are local hearty home cooked dishes made fresh using ingredients from our doorstep, these dishes are often changing as different meats & ingredients come into season.

We also serve a range of German dishes. Our German ingredients are imported direct from Germany itself using the same suppliers as the German Embassy in London. These are complimented by our huge selection of German beers on tap and wines.

Black pudding, crispy bacon and a port and redcurrant sauce.

King Prawns
Pan fried garlic and chilli king prawns served on a bed of dressed salad.

Goats cheese (v)
Sesame seeded grilled goats cheese set on dressed salad with balsamic glaze and our own pickled golden and red beetroot.


Children’s Dishes

Local pork sausages served with mashed potato and baked beans.

Home made spatzle served in a tomato sauce with grated cheese and garlic bread.

Local home made beef burger with hand cut chips.

Breaded chicken strips served with skinny fries and garden peas.

German Dishes

We import our traditional German ingredients from the Country itself using the same suppliers as The German Embassy in London. That’s what makes our dishes truly authentic.

Bavarian Meatloaf £10.95

German Pork & Veal meatloaf served on mashed potato & topped with a fried egg accompanied by cider & apple braised sauerkraut, red cabbage & onion gravy.

Meatloaf popular in Bavaria is known as leberkase ‘liver-cheese’ although the recipe contains neither! It is a combination of ground minced meats traditionally ground twice daily before adding the spices and herbs and forming into a loaf and baking.

“Kasseler Pork” first began in 1880 with a Butcher in Germany named Cassel. By Curing & smoking the pork the moisture was drawn out to preserve the meat. It remains a popular dish in Germany due to its distinctive flavour.

Hunter’s Schnitzel £12.95

Bread crumbed chicken Schnitzel with a creamy mushroom & pepper sauce served with your choice of spaetzle or skinny fries & a dressed salad.

In 867 AD Kaiser Basileios decided he wanted his meat coated in sheets of gold. The wealthy at the time decided to follow suit but as it soon became fairly expensive a cheaper alternative was sourced in ‘golden’ bread crumbs. Many variations are found all across Germany.

Goulash in Bavaria is often made with a mix of beef & pork and often served as a soup
